The Opportunity:

We are a US-based insurance company looking for talent to be employed through Centris Information Services, our partner in Monterrey, MX.

Position Overview:

An Application Support Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and support of critical Enterprise and Business Applications.  This includes ensuring stability and proper monitoring of these applications.  This team plays a very active role in implementations assisting and leveraging other infrastructure and development teams. 

*Must be available for rotating on-call 24x7 support for application support related issues as part of a team


What you will be doing:

·          Install, configure, troubleshoot, and support enterprise applications in a Windows environment

·          Install, configure, troubleshoot, and support middleware

·          Install, configure, troubleshoot, and monitor web sites and web services in Windows IIS

·          Configure, troubleshoot, and support cloud and server-based applications

·          Monitor production applications and systems and assist in recovering from system failures

·          Build application redundancy and disaster recovery configurations

·          Manage and coordinate projects as assigned

·          Implement new products, services, and integrations

·          Automate business processes and job functions

·          Interact with various IT staff and business users

You should have:

·          Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline preferred, or previous application support/systems administration experience

·          Working knowledge of web applications and web servers

·          Understanding of basic Windows server administration

·          Experience managing enterprise applications

·          Basic understanding of Active Directory

·          Understanding of WAN and LAN networks

·          Familiarity with OnBase or other ECM solutions

·          Familiarity with Financial Applications

·          Familiarity with Powershell or other scripting languages

·          Familiarity with Automation Platforms (Such as Control-M)

·          Project management

·          Office 365 Administration

·          Working knowledge of databases (preferably MS SQL Server)

·          Working knowledge of Java

·          Understanding of Active Directory

·          Working knowledge of middleware applications (preferably Tomcat)

·          Understanding of digital certificates

·          Sharepoint Administration

·          Understanding of Software as a Service (SaaS)

·          Familiarity with Identity Management Software

·          Familiarity with diagnostic tools and performance optimization tuning


You should be able to:

·          Summarize and present findings and challenges to management

·          Assess root issues and provide solutions for the business and the customer

·          Demonstrate and promote creativity and innovation

·          Proactively seek out alternate solutions to issues and business requests

·          Able to prioritize multiple tasks and quickly change focus to high priority items

·          Ability to evolve within a rapidly changing environment
