Purpose of the job: 


The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related PayClip infrastructure. This includes provisioning cloud

instances, turning on vpc servers, streamlining deployments, configuring virtual instances, scaling out db servers, and designing and implementing tools for security, monitoring, and deployment. Must be proficient with AWS or Google Cloud services and hosted deployments.


Key activities:


  • Configure and deploy cloud infrastructure, including networking, security, monitoring tools, and PayClip software.

  • Automate configuration management, deployment, security and availability monitoring.

  • Work with Engineering to design systems for scale and ease of deployment and maintenance.

  • Recommend and deploy tools to aid in the process.

  • Use automation frameworks such as puppet/chef/Opsworks to manage cloud infrastructure.

  • Manage configurations and track changes in the environment.


Requirements:


  • Strong knowledge of AWS and cloud infrastructure such as EC2, networking, lambda, Opsworks, etc.

  • Sound understanding of virtual infrastructure and virtualization technology.

  • Proficient in Linux.

  • Sound understanding of RDBMS principles and administration.
