Position Description
The Engagement and Release Manager (ERM) is accountable for a successful partnership relationship with our customer(s) by ensuring a timely product delivery as a consequence of developing high-performance teams following Tiempo Quality System (TQS) definitions and implementation of Tiempo Core values; is the primary point of contact for Tiempo customers and engineering teams. The ERM position requires an assertive involvement in the execution to allow teams’ productivity while ensuring alignment with customer goals.  

The ERM will engage with Sales Qualified Leads (SQL), assist in contracts negotiation and definition, and oversee the customer engagement across the whole life cycle. The ERM will lead to tailored continuous improvement efforts to maximize customer relationship tenure.  ERMs should have an extensive background in agile-based software development or a related field including technical skills, management, budgeting, analysis, and product management in an agile environment.

Areas of Responsibilities
People Management
Have multiple Scrum Masters, Product Owners and Software Engineering Leads as direct reports. 
Serve as a primary contact to escalate issues from the engineering team. ERM must ensure everyone in the assignation is aware he/she is available for them at all times. 
Accountable for execution and follow up any necessary performance improvement plans related to delivery success, team interactions and adherence to Tiempo core values.
Accountable for keeping teams engaged and motivated while ensuring each team member has a career path and goals oriented to that career path.  
Work with leadership teams to promote and reinforce Tiempo’s core values, policies, mission, vision, and goals with their teams. ERM must be present on all Tiempo events to demonstrate leadership presence.
Make sure that assigned teams have sufficient and adequate tools, infrastructure, and resources to do their work efficiently.
Work with Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) to provide the necessary tools, functions, and events for engineering teams.
Identify growth opportunities for people based on business and Tiempo needs and have the ability to elaborate a plan to place them in better positions. 

Account Governance & Growth
Assist with initial discovery meetings with prospective customers.
Serve as Subject Matter Expert for Tiempo processes and delivery during the sales cycle.
Prepare and present customer-facing material in support of Tiempo Business Development Process.
Prepare a Prospect Solution Proposal document.
When needed, prepare any consulting material such as MVP and/or business assessments.
Able to execute and explain all necessary details from the Tiempo TQS Configurator discovery documents for detailed information on new accounts. 
Assess account maturity for each of the programs assigned with Tiempo forms to identify gaps and proactively provide and execute solutions to fill the gaps.
Execute on signed work orders and build a ramp-up plan in compliance with Tiempo Quality System. ERM must know all the specifics of MSAs and SOW/SO/WO legal documents.
Develop a healthy business relationship with customers to obtain helpful feedback and being able to influence strategic decisions to become a partner for our customers.
Maintain regular communication with the Director of Software Delivery to escalate any issues and gather feedback for performance improvement. ERM is expected to escalate issues and risks with a proposed plan to action.
Ensure communication of any revenue changes, positive and negative to the Account Management group and to Accounting as soon as those are shared with the ERM. This includes communicating new opportunities with an action plan to follow.
Conduct required meetings with the customer based on the agreement in the TQS Configurator and Governance Model.  These meetings may include Monthly Management Meetings and other events.  
Active participation in internal operations meetings, including monthly PBI calls and meetings with Executive Team.

Project Management
Ensuring the delivery of services with the appropriate level of quality, technical standards, time, scope and budget in accordance with TQS configuration.
Have a deep understanding of metrics and KPIs to proactively detect areas of improvement and generate action plans as part of continuous improvement efforts.
Proactively communicate risks, performance, and people issues, business-related items, progress to all stakeholders, being the main one the DSD.
Update and maintain all program artifacts as required by TQS and customer, and place them in the Program folder.
Must know all Tiempo internal processes and must be able to execute them properly, such as promotions, salary adjustments, departures, new hires, employee changes, etc. 
Ensure teams’ estimations are realistic and accomplishable. Ensure deadlines are met and provide visibility to the customer about progress and any deviation.
Accountable for Agile best practices and ceremonies execution.

Product Management
Proactively work with the customer to deliver against product release cycles.  This includes understanding product requirements, business requirements, budget constraints, and deadlines.
Help the customer to organize the backlog, create a roadmap and/or define the timeframe of the release or releases that are needed based on services hired and team configuration.
Understand customer needs and have the ability to provide options and solutions to meet customer expectations and mitigate any risks.
Develop customer’s industry/market expertise to assist customer product decisions aiming at developing robust partnership relationships.
Ensure backlog has clear expectations, scope and acceptance criteria that Tiempo teams can estimate and successfully deliver. 
Accountable for ensuring Tiempo teams develop product, market and industry expertise to provide better feedback and estimations for our customers. 

Experience and Skill Requirements
Excellent English communication skills, meaning that they can have a clear conversation with a customer and define the scope of work, resource reviews, contract revision, etc.
6+ years of experience in Software Development Management role.
8+ years of experience in Software Development programs, projects or engagements.
6+ years of experience in Agile based Software Development practices. Especially in one of the following roles Scrum Master, Business Analyst and/or Product Owner. Ability to act as one as needed.
Experience tracking and reporting metrics in an Agile environment. 
Experience and ability to lead larger teams consisting of 15 or more software development professionals.
Experience with Software Project Management Tool to track progress (Jira, VersionOne, TFS, etc). 
Ability to lead customer assessments including MVP scope definition considering Business and Technical aspects as well as being able to define and a proper team for its execution. 
Ability to lead the ramp-up process of a development team (from the initial engagement with a customer to a steady-state of the team).
Self-organized and self-driven. Proactively propose plans of action to the DSD.
Exposure to complex implementations and engagements. Seasoned enough to generate customized and unique solutions for a given problem.
Ability to work with Product Managers to assess business requirements and market requirements.  After identification, convert those requirements into an actionable backlog for development teams to execute.  
Technical background to oversee technical practices, definitions, designs, and implementations.
