Software Shared Services focuses on enterprise level solution platforms and development environments that are truly cross-functional in nature. The goal of the organization is to provide world-class solutions that are truly scalable, agile and delivered in the most efficient manner. Currently, the Software Shared Services organization includes management of our SAP environment, Application and Data integration environments, and the newly created Application Lifecycle Services group.

The scope of Software Engineering Services is to deliver end-to-end custom application development services available to any part of the AZ IT organization and the business.

The Software Engineer will be responsible for design, development, performance testing, documentation and implementation of comprehensive software solutions that enable AstraZeneca to discover and develop new innovative medicines. In this role you will apply your technical expertise working in a scrum team to deliver a solution to one of the many scientific challenges within AZ. This role requires an individual with strong technical skills in multiple open source technologies.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience of working in midsize to large size organizations preferably in Life Sciences Industry. Hands on experience in integration technologies such as Mulesoft, Snaplogic & Informatica Powercenter. Hands‐on experience in Oracle, PL‐SQL, Unix Scripting. Good Understanding of Data modelling approaches and exposure to Data Modelling tools. Exposure or working knowledge in Middleware Platforms such as Oracle SOA would also be a good advantage.
  • In depth technical knowledge of Tools (Snaplogic, Informatica, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Informatica Cloud and Amazon Redshift) to configure the system as per Business requirements. Ability to understand business requirements from business users and prepare and review functional specifications.
  • Ability to Reduce overhead by defining and implementing a governance to obtain clear
  • ownership and optimal data quality. Understanding of ITIL processes and Application life cycle management.  
  • Ability to work in large and diverse teams.Good understanding of GXP and SOX requirements. Should be able to guide and mentor junior members of the team.
  • Should be aware of release governance processes and have experience in working on any incident management tool.Experience of various Estimation Techniques needed. Expertise in CI/CD processes and ability to setup Jenkins jobs.

Should have either a B.E. / B. tech degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
