Government Training System and Services seeking a self-motivated K level Software Manager to join the P-8 Aircrew Training team in Jacksonville, FL.

The P-8 Vehicle Simulation Software Team develops quality training software of onboard surveillance and weapons systems and the software for a full motion pilot training simulator for both Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS).

There are teams located in Dallas, Houston, Seattle, and with the hub in St.

Louis.

The selected candidate will work closely with peers to maintain a cohesive engineering team with a shared vision of common architecture, tools, and processes.

P-8 Aircrew Training currently supports multiple contracts and continues to grow.

As the Program Portfolio increases we are expanding our footprint this fall in Jacksonville to be closer to our customer, the Naval Air Warfare Center Training System Division (NAWCTSD).

The selected candidate will be responsible for the strategy of software team growth in the Jacksonville area to include: staffing his/her team and supporting the opening of the facility while executing work scope of the FMS and DCS contracts.

The P-8 Aircrew Training Program is a SAFe Agile environment currently planning a transformation to cross-functional Agile Release Trains (ARTs).

Domestic Temporary Assignment (DTA) may be necessary to support SAFe transformation planning, facility planning, and staffing.

Position Responsibilities: Acquire and manage a team of software engineers to develop, test, maintain, and improve software Coordinate with domestically dispersed peers Support SAFe Agile Transformation to cross functional Agile Release Trains (ARTs) Develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies, and procedures Manage, develop, and motivate employees Provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements Foster an innovative work environment leading to identification of opportunities for improvements in product, process, quality, and productivity Provide input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports Provide weekly status updates to senior management Boeing is the world’s largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial airplanes and defense, space and security systems.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship A minimum of 3 years’ experience in software development lifecycle and knowledgeable of agile methodology.

A minimum of 3 years experience leading teams working on projects using the following technologies, tools and languages: Workflow management-VersionOne, C++, Java, Perl, Python, C#, Unix, Linux, Windows and configuration management tools, Skilled in coaching and mentoring staff members to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational challenges Teamwork is important in this position; individual must have strong team-building skills.

Must have demonstrated ability to accomplish results through direct reports, colleagues in other parts of Boeing, and partners, even when they are not direct reports.

Ability to work well on virtual teams across multiple time-zones Bachelor’s degree or higher Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): SAFe Agile certifications.

Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g.

Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g.

Master4 years’ related work experience, 10 years’ related work experience, etc.).
