The purpose of the service is to provide a set of well-maintained applications supporting R&D and BPD processes at all AstraZeneca R&D and BPD sites. These applications include both highly regulated and non-regulated applications. The applications to be supported provide support to laboratory personnel performing drug research and development.

The Science IT Analyst will be working together with Application Support Team on the hands-on delivery of maintenance, support, troubleshooting and enhancements for RDI and BPD applications under the direction of an Operational Service Manager.  This involves execution of application maintenance and support processes, partnering with multiple global IT Teams  to bring applications into support, and providing quality service delivery for supported applications. 

The role will also deliver an excellent service support focused on Customer Satisfaction considering the future service enhancements.

Required Skills:

  • Degree level education in Engineering, Computer Systems Engineer, IT computer science.
  • Prior 2-3 years of experience working in IT environment.
  • 2-3 years of experience working with Linux and Windows environments.
  • Concepts about File Systems.
  • Fundamentals knowledge on Unix shell scripting.
  • Basic knowledge on Linux commands (cp, mv, ls, top, chmod, chown, vmstat)
  • Knowledge of Incident Management using Remedy or similar platform.
  • Troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to interact with global and multicultural teams.
  • Ability to learn new IT concepts and new application technologies.
  • Interested to learn multiple applications and methodologies around Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • Interested to work in a support service area.
  • Speaks English Fluently.
  • Write English in an advanced level.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills .


  • Ability to wo r k well in diverse, multinational teams and proven ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Experience with SQL databases is a plus.
  • Experience using ServiceNow
  • Und er standing and experience with IT Service management toolsets like Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management.
  • Knowledge of ETL concepts is a plus
