The role is accountable for building and owning the Automation framework, building automated regression suites,
managing testing solutions to approved budget and schedule commitments whilst meeting required quality and
compliance standards. Focus areas include stakeholder management, ownership of the automation framework
and delivery of good testing practices and strategies. Requirements

Leading the development/enhancement of the Automation Framework to meet customer demands and
aligning with the team automation strategy
Generate working PoCs for AZ applications to create a blueprint for the SQ&T team
Overall ownership of the automation testing activities, delivering fully tested quality systems.
Bringing together the automation activities currently ongoing in various locations to form one Automation
Team and common practices going forward
Leading the delivery of automation testing services within internal IT projects and programmes to meet
customer and business needs
Proactively identify improvements and enhancements to working practices. Work closely with the Hub Test
Managers to enhance automation test processes on an ongoing basis
Review work of other Automation team members. Mentor more junior members of the team
Overseeing the choice and use of the right tools and technologies to keep in line with market changes and
needs of our customers
Create and sustain great relationships with key stakeholders from an operational and tactical perspective.
Customer facing communications, driving automation testing engagement strategies, ensuring processes are
effectively used. Ensure problems are resolved and escalated as appropriate.
When necessary, drive the efforts surrounding testing evidence for auditing and regulation purposes for
projects, based upon their specific regulatory needs.
Ensure the testing teams engaged on automation projects adhere to all standards, quality, and compliance,
as well as processes, defined technical capabilities, and good practices.
Minimum Requirements - Education and Experience
Previous experience working as a Test Automation Lead with some development experience
Previous experience of building automation frameworks
Being able to lead large automation testing projects to successfully deliver for customers
Solid, hands-on testing background, with in depth knowledge of software automation techniques
In depth understanding and use of Automated non-agile and agile testing methods – BDD,
JBehave/Cucumber, Selenium, RESTassured
Strong stakeholder management and influence skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
Proactive approach to problem solving with strong Lateral and Critical thinking skills.
Self-learner and serious about remaining up to date with testing industry advancements. Ability to grasp and
understand new technology and concepts.
Experience working in globally distributed team.
