About You
You are a strong people manager and technical leader with an ability to create structure while still comfortable getting your hands dirty as an individual contributor. You are experienced at running a lean organization with a keen eye towards the aggressive schedules you are trying to hi. You epitomize servant leadership, doing everything necessary to make your team successful. Since, a majority of our engineers work remotely, you are comfortable with remote first organizations and thrive in the balance it offers to pursue your personal passions.
The Role
Reporting to the VP of Engineering, this manager is paramount to the success of Reify’s mission. This role intersects people, process and technology at truly a global level while giving you the opportunity to advance in your career within a fast growing organization. Success in this role will measurably increase customer adoption by meeting SLAs and accelerating value capture.

Responsibilities
  • Attract and hire stellar people
  • Build and lead a team of software engineers (10+)
  • Accelerate the delivery of high quality product to market
  • Collaborate with Product Management on defining product priorities and roadmap
  • Continue to roll out agile best practices influencing your peers and leveraging metrics
  • Mentor your peers with your management experience
  • Contribute to the technical design and development of the core product

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience managing a team of 10+ software engineers
  • Experience agile practitioner with working knowledge of Spotify’s development model, Scrum and Kanban.
  • Must be a strong communicator and knows what it takes to lead and motivate a team of remote engineers
  • Proven ability to deliver product to market with high quality and on schedule
  • Can effectively advocate for the needs of the development team, understanding the tradeoffs between time to market and technical debt
  • Strong development experience skills in any modern programming language.
  • Demonstrated experience with change management
  • Skilled at articulating  technical concepts to peers and non-technical persons respectfully and clearly

 

Stand Out
  • Experience with regulatory regimes such as HIPAA and GDPR
  • Knowledge of functional programming languages and philosophy (or existing Clojure chops!)
  • Experience in a startup environment, or as a fully remote employee – we use Slack and Zoom extensively, and our team is largely comprised of remoters
