We are now hiring for a Senior System Validation Engineer – Datacenter

NVIDIA is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the System Validation Team – Datacenter. This position is responsible for system validation and post-production activities for NVIDIA datacenter server products, such as baseboards, DGX/RTX Servers or DGX Stations. The primary responsibility of this team is to ensure extraordinary quality GPU server products are brought to market; validate all NVIDIA server systems prior to production release, bringup and debug system issues, methodology development, flow improvements, post-production issue resolution & support.

The scope of responsibility includes driving all aspects of system validation and debug. The validation engineer must maintain a close relationship with all members of the architecture, HW & SW design teams to guarantee they are prepared to rigorously test and debug all new features and changes made during the product development. You should be very comfortable in a lab environment and should demonstrate a passion towards product system level validation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work closely with system architects, hardware and software design engineers, and project managers to maintain good understanding of the design and ongoing changes.

  • Create detailed and rigorous testplan based on the system design.

  • Drive system integration and verification tests along with other validation engineers to enable rapid iteration of the server design.

  • Drive debug and resolution of issues found. Influence future system designs to avoid them.

  • Develop methods and tools to execute tests, evaluate and document results, in collaboration with subject experts in an efficient and reliable manner.

  • Communicate validation status and risk to the management.

  • Investigate factory yield and field issues.

  • Support post-production updates.

  • Continuously look for ways to improve the validation testplan, tools and NVIDIA server products.

What we need to see:

  • Minimum BS degree or equivalent work experience

  • 12 + years of hands-on experience in the areas of silicon bringup, board-level design/validation, or system design/validation

  • Deep technical knowledge and understanding of various datacenter system products.

  • Experience with BMC, server management processors and debugging tough system level problems.

  • Experience with system level verification, IO interconnect, PCI-Express high-speed data switches.

  • Strong bringup and debugging skills; and knowledge of system integration issues.

  • Must have experience in Python, Java, Perl or Tcl for bench automation.

  • Experience with complex test equipment setups for high speed signal measurement.

  • Knowledge of Linux operating system and networking.

  • Experience in PCIe protocol and compliance testing is a plus.

  • Understanding of data center management tools, server architecture, system mechanics, etc. is a plus.

  • Strong communication skill in both written and verbal
