Network Analyst for Wireless LAN Architecture and Infrastructure is responsible for support of the Wireless Local Area Networks at all Chrysler locations
Primary Responsibilities include; Write documentation and procedures; Perform Site Surveys of sites to determine locations of access points, switches, servers, and the equipment to be ordered; Coordinate and assist RF site surveys to determine coverage requirements and facility conditions; Prepare a Scope of Work for wireless infrastructure installation; Coordinate site walkthrough with customer and installation personnel to review hardware placement and project statement of work; Responsible for ensuring all project spreadsheets and as-built drawings are kept up to date and accurate; Manage the preparation and installation of wireless networks throughout Chrysler; Coordinate in-house and third party teams needed for wireless projects; Configure wireless hardware which includes Cisco access points and bridges, authentication servers and end user devices; Define Firewall rules and wired Switch/Server needs; Certify Networks coverage and performance; Site post-install surveys; Manage and administrate the wireless equipment (APs, Radius, and Controllers); System management tools (WLSE, WCS, CiscoWorks); Manage Cisco 802.11 Inventory / harvest used equipment; Wireless configuration & IOS standardization; RADIUS servers (MAC authentication, 802.1x EAP-TLS authentication); Troubleshoot Wireless Problems (APs, Controllers, Clients, RADIUS servers, RF Issues) (AirMagnet ); Test and evaluate new Wireless products; Test and certify the latest Wireless client packages; Gather Wireless Statistics; System analysis, monitoring, and auditing; Work with Corporate Security and Audit to define and implement Wireless Security needs for the Corporation; and Provide support for Level 2/3 Wireless problems.
Minimum 5 years network experience with at least 2 years in WLAN technology
Experience supporting large scale WLAN's
Experience in Layer 2 & Layer 3 technologies.
Thorough understanding of Wireless technologies (802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, WiMAX, ZigBee).
Understanding of 802.11 authentication and encryption methods (Open, Shared, 802.1X, EAP, TKIP, AES)
Ability to configure Cisco Autonomous AP's, LWAPP AP's and WLC's
Experience in installation and administration of Radius servers
WLAN troubleshooting skills for controllers, access points, and clients
Knowledgeable of RF deployment considerations related to site survey design of data or VoWLAN applications
Good organization, communication, and process improvement skills
Ability to be on call for 24/7 support as necessary
Identify risks and establish priorities in a high energy environment
CCNA Wireless certification is a plus
Experience in a manufacturing environment would be helpful
Experience with performance management tools and / or site survey kits and services
Experience with legacy 902 technologies
